Heaven Rejoices is both a Christmas musical and a Scriptural fact. Heaven was rejoicing 2,000 years ago at God's provision to redeem people through the sending of His Son, born in a humble stable. Heaven Rejoices is a unique in that it's dramatic telling of the Christmas story is from the angels' points of view. The musical begins before the world was created with the angels overhearing God the Father discussing how He's going to create a universe. They are astounded about His plans and the revelation that there will be other created beings. The story journeys through the angel's contemplation and rejoicing over what is now to us the familiar Christmas elements of shepherds, wisemen and, of course, the nativity.
Accompanying the Heaven-born story is wonderful music; an array of many musical genres, including contemporary, jazz, Broadway, gospel, ballads, Spanish, calypso and classic. The melodies are rich, the harmonies are beautiful and the lyrics are profound. Though it begins from the angels' point of view, the music takes the story straight to the heart of the listener. Words and music were written by Ken Parker, the orchestrations were done by Bob Krogstad, Dove Award-winning arranger for artists Sandi Patty, Mel Tormé, Michael Crawford and Natalie Cole.
